Welcome to Shakes on the rocks!
Our Story
We are a proud family run farm with deep roots in dairy farming, on our farm in Biddulph Moor, Staffordshire. In April 2022, one of the younger family members, 17-year-old Jess, had the idea that changed everything. To help diversify and keep the the farm going, we launched Shakes on the Rocks — a unique milkshake vending machine that brings our fresh milk straight from the herd to your cup.
The name Shakes on the Rocks comes from the huge natural rock formations on our farm and the stunning views that surround us, making our little corner of the countryside extra special.
What We Offer
From that one idea, Shakes on the Rocks has grown into a place where visitors can enjoy so much more than milkshakes. Today you’ll find:
• Fresh Milk & Milkshakes – straight from our dairy herd to our vending machine.
• Homemade Treats – ice cream, cakes, cheesecakes, and more.
• Local Produce & Gifts – cheese, hot drinks, and small gifts to take home.
• The Animal Barn – our new petting barn where you can meet and do activities with our animals.
• Seasonal events -- Pumpkin patch + maize maze, Santas Grotto, Baby lamb bottle feeding.

Farming is in our roots. Meet the family members, both by blood and by bond, who work endlessly. From sunrise chores to sunset fields, these are the folks who keep our farm growing strong!
Jess has been involved with the farm from an early age and now plays a central role in its day-to-day operations. While she continues to support with livestock, her main focus is managing Shakes on the Rocks, our on-site milk vending machine, including the administrative work and social media advertisement. Jess first proposed the idea for the vending machine at just 17!
Alongside her work on the farm, Jess also runs her own riding school, Wickenstone Equine, where she shares her knowledge and passion for horses.

Mark is the owner of the farm and the main caretaker of the land and livestock. He has over 40 years of farming experience, having worked on farms since he was a child. With great livestock knowledge and a strong work ethic, Mark oversees the daily operations and ensures the farm runs smoothly. He now also helps with the running of the milk vending machine, bringing fresh milk directly from the farm to the community.

Andrea plays a central role in the smooth running of our family farm. With her strong sense of organisation, dedication, and attention to detail, she ensures that day-to-day tasks are carried out efficiently. Andrea is also a key figure in managing Shakes on the Rocks, making sure it is always well stocked, clean and ready for customers.

Working alongside Andrea, she helps to oversee Shakes on the Rocks, ensuring customers enjoy fresh, high-quality milk every day. Lilia’s hardworking approach and positive attitude make her a vital part of the farm, contributing to its success and its welcoming atmosphere.
