Welcome to ‘The Animal Barn’ at Shakes On The Rocks 🐾
Our Animal Barn is the perfect place for animal lovers of all ages to enjoy hands on experiences with a wide variety of friendly farm animals. From gentle giants to tiny cuddly friends, there’s something for everyone to meet, feed, and fall in love with.

Throughout the year, we also welcome new arrivals, giving visitors the chance to meet lambs, chicks, baby piglets, Shetland foals, and baby goats, making every season a little different and extra special.
Activities Include:
• Feeding our friendly animals
• Grooming a Shetland pony
• Goat and sheep cuddle and meet and greet
• Alpaca meet & greets (plus a mini walk!)
• Rabbit cuddles
• Sit on a Shire horse
• Pony rides (available on set dates)
Seasonal sessions may also include piglet meets, lamb feeding, baby goat cuddles, and even foal cuddles. Unforgettable experiences for families and children alike.

Meet The Team
Pygmy Goats 🐐
Say hello to Buttercup, Belle, Shirley, Custard, and Mimosa. Our cheeky little Pygmy goats! They love cuddles, snacks, and making everyone smile with their playful personalities. Always curious and full of energy, they’re a big favourite in the Animal Barn.
Alpacas 🦙
Say hello to Ned, Arlo, Rocky, Arthur, and Buck! Friendly and curious, they love meeting visitors, showing off their soft fleeces, and heading out on alpaca walks. They’re gentle, calm, and always a favourite at the Animal Barn.
Shetlands 🐴
Sassy, George, and Goldie are our cheeky Shetland ponies who love cuddles and grooming. Goldie is extra special as she’s expecting a foal next year!
Rabbits 🐇
Blueberry and Charlie are soft, gentle, and love a cuddle. They’re happiest when snacking on treats and relaxing with visitors in the barn.
Sheep 🐑
Our sheep are calm, friendly, and love a good snack. In springtime, they’re joined by adorable lambs, giving visitors the chance to enjoy bottle feeding our sweet new arrivals!
Baby Calves 🐄
Gentle and curious, our calves love attention from visitors. They’re extra special because they’ll grow up to be the next generation of milk makers for Shakes on the Rocks, so you might be meeting the future behind your favourite milkshake! 🥤
Pauline the Pig 🐷
Pauline is one of the stars of the barn! She loves her food, enjoys fuss from visitors, and can often be found lounging happily in her pen.
Big Fred - The Shire 🐴
Big Fred is our gentle giant! Calm and friendly, he loves meeting visitors and enjoys steady rides. He’s happiest when there’s food around, and there’s a lot of him to feed!

We are also home to Wickenstone Alpacas!
In addition to meeting them in the barn, visitors can enjoy:
• 10-minute alpaca walks – perfect for younger children or first timers.
• 30-minute alpaca walks – for those who’d like to spend longer with these gentle, curious animals.
Our alpacas are also available for hire at events and parties, bringing something truly unique and memorable to special occasions.
